about

The first track off of the upcoming album by The Clockwork Deity.

lyrics

Under the suns, between a valley carved into the mountains stood buildings and temples to honour the dead of a city so feared that no mortal dare mutter it's unholy name. They left no survivors and devoured all that they captured before they were dead. Visions of agony tormented all but the purest blood, leaving the commoners trapped in a nightmare of death and decay, for the Gods that spoke to them in dreams warned that their actions displeased all but one of their kin; the one who was imprisoned under the lake. But they did not change their ways, for fear that their King would discover their secret and end their lives.

But it would come to be.
This tale is of misery, death and depravity - time, space and reality.

A disease spread from the Citadel, infecting everyone who gazed upon their sacred idol.
Eradicating half the population in a sea of blackened vomit, it began to take hold of the empathetic princess, her death would surely be the end of them.

For there was nothing their king wouldn't do to protect his only child.

In his dreams he received a vision of what he must do. Their god’s attention could be won by sacrifice, if only they could devise a grandiose slaughter so revolting that the evil one might be awakened.

A disease spread from the Citadel, infecting everyone who gazed upon their sacred idol.
Eradicating half the population in a sea of blackened vomit, it began to take hold of the empathetic princess, her death would surely be the end of them.

For there was nothing the king wouldn't do.

//CUTSCENE//

Under the fading light of their twin suns there stood an altar made of rotting vessels; victims of the plague that even now their scholars referred to as the final days of humanity. Alas their agony was only just beginning, for if they knew what their king intended they would doubtlessly stop his torturous ritual suicide. As his blood flowed into the river, they sacrificed their orphan sons and daughters.

[[undecipherable]] An ancient evil was reborn, it spoke to the king and bore him visions of unprecedented suffering.
